Director’s note: The inspiration for these puppets came from the participants’ memories of the celebrations they had witnessed as children and also from the questions: Why did you come to Canada? and What do you expect to find here?. After reflecting over these topics each person made a small puppet, a model that expressed their answers to some of these questions. Under Tim Gosley’s masterly guidance the mini-puppets became the giant puppets that were paraded in front of the audience. It has been a marvelous process and the hours spent in the Workshop making these dreams come true have been very rewarding, full of creativity, warmth and friendliness.
